Safety and participation

Motorsport and performance driving can be dangerous and accidents may cause serious injury or death.

In consideration of being granted permission to participate, I agree, declare and undertake the following.

Declarations

  • I understand the nature of the activity I wish to undertake and accept that the activity is potentially hazardous.
  • I have read and agree to abide by the rules and instructions given by The Motorsport School and/or its instructors and officials, and I agree not to behave in any manner that could cause unnecessary danger or bring either party into disrepute.
  • I am competent to take part in the activity and am familiar with the operation of a motor vehicle (including changing gear, steering and braking).
  • I understand I must not attempt to enter the circuit or drive a vehicle on circuit unless accompanied by a suitably qualified instructor nominated by the organisers.
  • I am in good health, my eyesight is adequate for this activity, and I am not aware of any condition that may hinder my ability to be in full control of a vehicle.
  • I am not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication which may affect my driving ability.
  • I will withdraw from the activity if for any reason I feel unsafe, and I will notify The Motorsport School immediately if any change in my health occurs.

Indemnity and liability

  1. I shall hold harmless and not make any claim against The Motorsport School in respect of any loss, damage, or injury that may arise from my participation, including any decision to use a vehicle under my control for the activity.
  2. I understand that I shall be liable for all damages to any vehicle I use during the activity, including bodywork damage, internal damage, and mechanical damage due to misuse or negligence.
  3. I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified The Motorsport School against any claims arising from a breach of these conditions or the rules provided.
  4. The Motorsport School, their servants, agents and employees shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury except in the case of death or personal injury caused by negligence.
  5. I shall hold harmless and keep indemnified The Motorsport School and all other parties against any claims arising from my negligent act or omission.
  6. In the event of accident, loss or damage during the event, I agree not to pursue any claim against any other participant (save in respect of injury or death).
  7. I shall be fully liable for any damage to property of any instructor, participant, third party or The Motorsport School for the purposes of taking part in the activity.
  8. I accept I shall be solely responsible for any decision to drive and if I deem it unsafe I must cease driving immediately.
  9. I confirm I am solely responsible for my own conduct and shall obey all instructions provided at the briefing or at any other time during the event.
  10. I accept that I shall be solely responsible for any decision to drive, and I understand I may be required to stop and leave if an official considers my actions dangerous or detrimental to others.
  11. I understand I am obliged to obey any reasonable instruction of any official, and I must not venture onto the circuit unless directed by an official.

Passengers and equipment

  • If driving an on-track vehicle, I understand I may have a passenger only with the permission of the organisers, and they must travel in the front passenger seat only.
  • I understand I must wear a helmet for the activity, and ensure it is fitted correctly.
  • I understand I am solely responsible for the level of protective clothing that I choose to wear.

Images and media

  • I confirm that any images (moving or still) that I, or any other persons in my party take are for personal use only and may not be used for commercial purposes or broadcasting.
  • I give permission for me and any other persons in my party to be filmed/photographed for publicity and published on The Motorsport School’s social media.

Insurance

The Motorsport School and their contractors/agents have insurance in place; however I understand I am responsible for providing my own insurance should I require it.
